My business partner lives in Carmel. I guess he is my virtual business partner. 

My coach lives in Sydney, Australia. I guess she is my virtual coach.

My in-laws live in Chicago. I guess they are my virtual in-laws.

My assistant lives in the Philippines. I guess she is my virtual assistant.

But what is fascinating to me is that none of the CEOs I mentor, none of the members of my mastermind groups, and none of the portfolio company founders we have invested in, ever call me stressed out about their virtual business partner, or their virtual coach, or their virtual in-laws, or even virtual baby Yoda. 

But, when it comes to virtual assistants, it seems to mildly freak everyone out! 

These are some of the questions that I get:

  • How do I know they are not goofing off?
  • Can I trust them with my passwords?
  • Can they do the projects that I assign to them?
  • Do I have to hand-hold them?
  • What if they make mistakes?

and so on.

Let me point out something interesting for you.

Read that list again. Every single one of those questions is also entirely applicable to someone that you hire that sits in a cubicle in your office!

And that begs the question: 

Why do we have so much hesitation towards hiring over-qualified, deeply motivated, and dramatically more economical off-shore talent?
