I asked myself this question right when the late great Steve Jobs passed away.

If I only had 10 minutes with the ultra-friendly ghost of Steve Jobs and “he” was willing to teach me anything… yes, absolutely anything (that Steve Jobs knew) what would I want to learn from him?

I thought I knew exactly what I wanted to learn, but right then I remembered a quote that I love:

“When you don’t know your options, you don’t have any.”

So I decided to make a Top X list… just to evaluate my options.

Top 7 things that I would like to learn from the friendly ghost of Steve Jobs

  1. How do you take the complex stuff and make it simple?
  2. How do you demand perfection without being an a-hole?
  3. If you had 50 more years, what would have dedicated your life to building?
  4. How do you create a perfect presentation, almost every time?
  5. What is the meaning of life?
  6. What did you learn about health and human performance?
  7. How did you find great people to hire and groom inside the organization?

I actually pondered on this list for a long time… and then began to realize something…

I realized that I was already starting to get the answers to many of these questions… maybe because I was just actively thinking about them.

For example:

  • I realized that my 5 year old daughter Lara teaches me how to make the complex stuff simple every single day
  • I realized that there is almost nothing more closely correlated to human performance than our health… and the best way to take care of my health was to build an amazing support system of specialists to help me
  • I realized that if I had 50 extra years to live, I would dedicate it to supporting my children to living into their true potential so that they could do their part in changing the world
  • I don’t have an answer for the correlation between being a perfectionist and being an a-hole, because neither is my jam.
  • And of course, I know the meaning of life is 42. (Look up The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy)

But one question stood out among all of them:

How do you create the perfect presentation, almost every time?

That was what I wanted to know the answer to…

Now, I wasn’t sure when I was going to meet Steve’s friendly ghost, but I was really determined to answer this question for myself.

So over the last 10 years I committed myself to learning about how to deliver great presentations.

Here are a few things that I did:

  • I hired Tony Robbins’ speaking coach
  • I studied every single Steve Jobs presentation I could get my hands on
  • I watched all the old WWDC replays… insane.
  • I looked up the the highest converting webinars for information products, got the links to them, and studied them… including their transcripts
  • I hired a presentation coach who helped me outline a presentation, build out the slides, and script the transitions
  • He even asked me to study MLKs speeches that most people had never heard

I started to break down the patterns of the greatest speakers of our time… Tony Robbins, Steve Jobs, MLK, Simon Sinek, Oprah, David Goggins, Conan O’Brien, Barack Obama, Seth Godin, Arianna Huffington… and my favorite of all Malcolm Gladwell.

I found a pattern…

At first, I was not sure of this pattern… so I built myself an initial framework to experiment with it.

I took this framework and built all my presentations with it.

I used it to build live keynote presentations that I delivered to thousands of people to sold-out crowds in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and North America.

But I also used it for the simple stuff:

  • I used it for sales videos
  • I used it for Facebook Lives
  • I used it for webinars and zoom calls
  • I even used it in screen-share videos with my teams

In fact, I use “parts” of it in every day presentations today in our extremely digital world in my mastermind groups and also with the CEOs I mentor, and the Fortune 500 companies that I consult with.

I have continued to update and polish this framework so that it is not just “Sharran-centric” and that it can be used by anyone, anywhere, to present anything, or sell anytime.

I have taught this to entrepreneurs, business owners, coaches, and consultants. I have taught it to my mastermind groups and the CEOs that I mentor…

…and for the first time I am going to teach it to you live.
