[00:00:00] Hey, this is Sharran Srivatsaa, and welcome back to the business school podcast. And in this episode, I’m going to break down for you the five simple things that successful people do. I actually did a little study and I looked at all the successful people that I know, my friends of who I know personally, who I know well, who are amazing entrepreneurs, business owners, coaches, consultants.

[00:00:21] I’m like, what is, what makes them deeply successful? And I wanted to kind of understand that. And I found five really powerful traits that make them successful. They’re simple. They’re tactical and you could do them just like they do it for themselves and I break it all down for you starting right now.

[00:00:42] One thing is for certain, just because it’s tried and true doesn’t mean it’s working right now. So the big question is this, where can you learn what is working right now? The strategies, the tactics, the psychology and the exact how to, how to grow your business, [00:01:00] how to blow up your personal brand and supercharge your personal growth.

[00:01:04] That is the question. And this podcast will give you the answer. My name is Sharran Srivatsaa and welcome to business school.

[00:01:16] Successful people clearly do things differently, and we all know what they are, but no one has actually given us the simple things that they do differently. And I have had a chance to spend a lot of time with a lot of successful people, and I always look past the obvious. I want to see, what do they do differently?

[00:01:35] That is a pattern. What did they do? That’s repeatable. What did they do? That’s simple. What did they do? That is a simple shift that I can install in my life and in my business. And I can create this roadmap for you. I actually summarize this into 13 things, but I’m only going to give you five today because what is the point of being simple if I can’t keep it short, I want to give you five simple things that successful people do.

[00:01:59] I’m going to give you the big [00:02:00] idea and practically how I’ve seen other people do it, how I’ve tried it in my life, and maybe that will help you as well. So let’s get into number one. And the first one is there is a focused vision. We’ve talked about successful people having vision and all of that, but let me tell you how I understand this.

[00:02:15] What is really success all about? And if you take that, anyone in the world can have success. And that is, knowing what you want, having a plan to get there, and doing the work. Literally, that’s it. That’s what success is all about. Knowing what you want, having a plan to get there, and doing the work. And now, each of the, while I understand that this is easier said than done, from a very simplistic perspective, if you can just ask yourself, Hey, do I know exactly what I want?

[00:02:44] Do I have a plan to get there? And can I do it? Am I doing the work right? Most of the time it breaks down in one of these three things, but the focus vision for successful people is that they know exactly what they want. They can define success very clearly. And [00:03:00] most of us don’t have that. Most people in the world, they just say, Oh, I want to make more money.

[00:03:05] I want to have better relationships. I want to be healthier. I want to lose some weight. I want to start a business. I want to become famous. They don’t say, Hey, I want to make 10, 000 in the next month, or I want to make a million dollars in the next three years. They don’t say, I want to grow my profitability by 21%.

[00:03:23] They don’t say, I want to lose 10 pounds in 10 weeks. They don’t say, I want to find somebody who I can have a relationship with that can do A, B, and C. The clarity that goes into this is really important and it’s not like having this master document that you write a bunch of stuff into that you can never refer to.

[00:03:40] You just need to know it and internalize it. Successful people have a very clear vision where they have summarized it in language and made that a part of who they are. And how you want to think about this is, This one very simple thing, and I want to tell you a story which will change your life forever, because it did for me.

[00:03:57] I was speaking on stage one time, and uh, somebody came up [00:04:00] after, and I was having the conversation. They’re like, Hey Sharran, what would be one thing that you would suggest to me, so that will allow me to achieve my goals? And while that is a pretty generic question, I have a very specific answer. And that is to write and rewrite your goals from memory every single day.

[00:04:15] In the present tense, right, write and rewrite your goals from memory every single day. Now, it’s cool if you had five goals such as make a million dollars, lose 12 pounds, learn how to fly a kite, and buy a Lambo. If those were your goals, those are cool, those are your goals. But the job to really embed that, to really make that the filtering mechanism for your life.

[00:04:37] is to write and rewrite them from memory. So if you’re not able to write and rewrite your goals from memory, I’m sorry, you just don’t have them. The idea of like planning and creating a kind of goal infrastructure is one thing, but actually being able to recall it and make it a part of your daily life is something completely different.

[00:04:57] So I told this guy, I said, Hey, I would wake [00:05:00] up every morning, And I would write two goals, I would write and rewrite them from memory every morning. And about like 45, 50 days later, I can’t remember the exact timeline, he writes me a message and sends me a picture, direct message on Instagram, he sends me a picture of how he wrote and rewrote his goals from memory every single day.

[00:05:15] And he’s like, Shrad, I can’t believe it. I’ve already started to like check things off my list. Now, I’m not trying to say that this is the secret or anything like that. What I am saying is, there is a filter to how we all live our lives. And if you are hungry, right, if you are hungry right now, your body and your mind and your spirit and everything is looking around to see where you can get food.

[00:05:38] If you were driving on the highway and you had to go to the bathroom, all you’re looking for is a rest stop. If you are stuck trying to solve a personal problem, all you’re looking for is a solution. If you are single and you want to find a partner, all you’re looking for is a spouse. If you don’t have money and you really need to make some, all you’re looking for is a way to find money.

[00:05:58] Now, that is the level of a heat [00:06:00] seeking missile that we need to have in our level of focus because there’s a great Dan Sullivan quote where he says, your eyes only see and your ears only hear what you’re looking for. Did you hear that? It’s the, the cool part about that is the last few words, what you are looking for.

[00:06:13] Your eyes only see and your ears only hear what you are looking for. And that’s what I want to kind of communicate with you is, what is the definition of success? The definition of success for each of us is very different. Some people want to make more money. Some people want to have better health. Some people want to have time freedom.

[00:06:29] Some people want to have financial freedom. Some people want to have, want to buy a boat, a yacht. Some people want to have better relationships. Some people want mastery. Success is very different, which is why all of us seek different things. So what is success? Knowing exactly what you want. Having a plan to get there and doing the work.

[00:06:47] And I think the thing that successful people do better than any of us is that there’s no way that they don’t know exactly what they want. And that is my number one thing, which is the focus vision. You ask a successful person. Hey, tell me [00:07:00] about your goals. Now, not every, like Bezos and, and Zuck are not going to tell you their goals.

[00:07:04] Like that doesn’t make any sense. If you ask your peer, Hey, talk to me about your goals and you have a good enough relationship. And if they are dialed in, if they are successful, if they have the right mindset, they’ll be able to reel out their goals because they can write and rewrite it from memory every single day.

[00:07:20] So that’s the one thing that I have done that has changed my life forever, which is writing and rewriting my key goals. Every single day, I do not start my day without rewriting my goals. Every single morning, I write them in the same place. I write them in the same notebook. I write them by hand, but doing that allows me, gives me this filter of looking through the lens of my goals and everything that I am doing.

[00:07:44] It allows me to say yes more easily. It allows me to say no more effortlessly. So the focused vision is super important. And I see that as the number one thing, what successful people do. So if you don’t write and rewrite your goals from memory, heck, if you don’t even have a very specific way [00:08:00] to hit it, no problem at all, that’s fine.

[00:08:01] Now is your chance to write it down once I’d say no more than three to five goals at any given time. I’ll tell you what I do. I try doing quarterly kind of bigger rocks based on these annual, you know, kind of bigger targets. And so I can write and rewrite my goals every single day. So that’s what I would recommend that you do because that is what successful people do.

[00:08:21] Here’s number two, which is the investment in talent and knowledge. I’ll tell you what I mean is that I have found the biggest leverage Is all about getting the greatest people in your corner. Now, sure. You could be like, Hey, I’m not a manager. I could create a little quick small business for myself and make some, have some success.

[00:08:41] Yes, for sure. But if you want anything major, if you want the massive insurance policies on achieving your goals, that is making sure you have the right people in your corner. And I will tell you right now in my life, I’ve realized that it’s not about the strategy or the tactics. It is only about the people.

[00:08:56] If I can find one person that is talented, any [00:09:00] person that I find, that I feel, that I meet, that I know is talented, I want to figure out how I can do something with them. I want to figure out, can I hire this person? Can I offer this person a piece of my company? Can I give them a shot? at doing a project.

[00:09:13] Can I joint venture with them? Can I invest in their business? Can I do something to be involved with them so that I know that I can have a partner that I can work with in some way? Right now, I’ve changed my mindset of looking for quote, talent and employees. And I’m looking for this idea of partnership.

[00:09:30] Who can I find that is so darn successful, so darn talented, they just have not been given the vehicle, they have not been given the environment, they’ve not been given the support system. That I could probably give them. I will tell you behind every super successful person is their number 2. Is their number 2 who wants to be the number 2?

[00:09:49] Is their number 2 who gets insane glory, insane fulfillment from being the number 2? The job is not to always be number 1. The job It’s me to be successful and what is to be successful [00:10:00] to be very clear to know exactly what you want to have a plan of getting there and to do the work. If that is truly the case, then why does anything matter whether you’re a number one or number two or number 55?

[00:10:10] I have zero problems stripping myself of all titles. If I know that from a being successful perspective, if I can get truly whatever I want. And that’s what’s super exciting. So today I believe that we are in the game of talent, talent to get great people in their own unique ability to see if we can figure out how we can give them great partnership.

[00:10:32] So if you’re a founder, if you’re listening to this and you’re a founder of a company and it’s struggling to grow, or if you are, you know, Are an operator and you haven’t found the company that you want to be a part of, or if you’re just an expert in your field, right? If you’re an entrepreneur and you have a company, if you’re an operator and you want, and you’re looking for your next gig, or if you’re just an expert in your field, can you just go ahead and just DM me on like one of the platforms, Instagram, maybe I just tell me about you because I have not had a chance to meet you and what you may want.

[00:10:59] Is probably what [00:11:00] I already have. I probably have a business that you can be a CEO or a president or a director of operations in. And if you’re a founder, I probably have an operator for you. If you’re a technician, I probably have a way to plug you into something that can get you amazing results. I probably have that.

[00:11:15] And so I’ve found that the most successful people have turned their mindset away from how do I make more money out of a better business model. And they’ve just realized that. If they, they’re in the business of having great partners with the most amazing people in the world, the quote substandard successful people, you know what they do, they always try to get the cheapest stuff.

[00:11:36] Hey, I’m going to hire, I’m going to go on a random Filipino, uh, VA board. I’m going to try to go to onlinejobs. ph and try to like put out these resumes and try to find a candidate and try to get them to, and then negotiate them to like a 1 an hour. And then I’m mad because they stole my credit card information.

[00:11:52] And instead of just. Going to a company like assistantly telling them what you want and having them find the best talent for you, right? The unsuccessful people cut corners, but the successful [00:12:00] people do not cut corners They have no problem paying for great talent and paying for great talent Is it as a really powerful thing because if you pay peanuts you get monkeys, right?

[00:12:09] You probably will pay an a player 10 to 20 percent more than market, but the output is probably eight to 10 X more. Think about this for a second. You’re going to pay somebody 10 to 20 times, 20 percent more than market, but they will give you 10 X better results. And when you realize that that’s how much you can create amazing result in your business, you realize it is not about the money and more.

[00:12:32] It’s about making it work for that talented individual. So if I were you, I would think about. Who could I partner with? Who could I have a relationship with? Who could I bring into my business? How can I structure this deal? Successful people also know that it’s not just about the money. Most people just want a shot.

[00:12:46] I have found, I have multiple times started businesses, started companies, hired people in my business. I know they were great. I told them the truth that, hey, this business is not making money and I’ve had people tell me, Hey man, I’ll work with you for free. I know you’ll make [00:13:00] it right. I know you’ll always do right by me.

[00:13:02] And those are the people that are still with me today in the so many things that I’ve done. The reason why, if you told me, Hey Sharran , I’m looking for a media buyer. The reason I can pull out one and make an introduction to Nicoresis immediately is because I know that they are that good because they’ve been with me through thick and thin.

[00:13:15] Right? That’s why this is really important. So number two, successful people understand an investment in talent and knowledge that when you hire an A player or when you find somebody that’s talented, you want to do whatever it takes to do something with them because that’s what’s going to open up great opportunities for you.

[00:13:30] Here’s number three. Which is time mastery. Now, a lot of people think about time mastery as successful people are just rude with their time. Now, I’ll give you a different example. My, uh, many of you know, my really good friend, Alex Hormozi, shared this cool idea with me. And he’s like, because I was struggling with just keeping up with the email, and I get a lot of email every day.

[00:13:46] And, and he’s like, Sharran, and I, and I was just like trying to get to inbox zero. And he goes, Sharran told me that you get two to three thousand text messages a day, and I’m like, yes, I do. He goes, are you able to get through all of them? I’m like, nope. He goes, do you think you’ll ever get [00:14:00] through all your text messages?

[00:14:00] I’m like, nope. He goes, well, I assume the same thing happened with email. I go, what do you mean? He’s like, sure. And you’re able to do work on your email right now because you just don’t have that volume that you have in your text messages. So like, I personally cannot respond to 3000 plus text messages a day.

[00:14:15] I get that many because we have a 22,000-person organization and every time they can hear it, he just wants to text me. Right. And that’s okay. Like I text people too, but I’m, I’m on the receiving end of an insane amount. A volume of text messages. And I just, I absolutely cannot keep up and I have, I don’t have one, one spare phone.

[00:14:34] I have two. So I actually carry on three phones, which one is my current phone. One is my quote work for, and one is my ultra secret personal phone. I carry three phones and even then I can’t keep up. Now, the key part of what I’m telling you is from a time mastery perspective, what successful people have figured out is they have figured out their medium.

[00:14:51] They figure out how they work. So for example, for you, if you text me, I’m going to tell you right now, I will never respond to you. Right? Because they’re like, Oh, for a [00:15:00] faster response, just text me. No, do not text me because you will never get a response. Now I have wired my life where I can actually respond to email.

[00:15:07] So I’m very good on my email. I am stay on top of it. And if I need help, I can loop other people in, but I stay on top of my email. I’m actually, I get through most of my email in 24 to 48 hours, which is as fast as I can get to it. But there are text messages that will fall through the cracks. And what I mean by time mastery is two things.

[00:15:23] One, successful people have figured out that their medium of communication is whatever their choice is. I actually have a friend right now who told me that he never wants to check email ever again. Now it’s completely opposite to me. He said to me he wants to run all his businesses and all his initiatives just on text message.

[00:15:42] He does not ever want to check his email again. He also told me that he doesn’t want any meetings on his calendar. So, he’s choosing to put whatever he wants on his calendar, he has no calendar link, he only wants to communicate in text message, and he doesn’t want any email, which is very opposite to me.

[00:15:57] I run my calendar, my calendar runs my life, I’m very [00:16:00] like time focused on how I manage stuff and I use email. He’s 100 percent the opposite, but him and I are good friends, but he has a very clear perspective on how he’s actually going to run his life. Now, the people that check DMs on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, et cetera, then they checked all the text messages and all the social platforms.

[00:16:16] Then they check their pings, dings, and bings. Then they check the emails and voicemails. Then they check whatever else Slack and Microsoft Teams, et cetera. You can spend your whole day just checking inbound messages. At some point, you have to run your world the way you want to run your world. And if you have to come into other people’s worlds because they have the upper hand, then you do that.

[00:16:35] If you have to come into my world, you have to email me. I don’t care who you are. You have to. You have no choice. But if I have to come into your world, and I have to find a way to talk to you, and you tell me the only way I can get a hold of you is if I call you, and I really need to call you, I will find a way to get into your world, right?

[00:16:49] So the key part here that I found with people is their ability. To find time mastery by finding a key platform and how people can communicate with them. Successful people have found [00:17:00] their method of communication. And the number one reason that I have seen that most unsuccessful people, I use unsuccessful as a really, you know, kind of general construct, is that they let people invade their time and their space and their energy in every way possible.

[00:17:16] So you can’t do your best work. At some point, you have to shut it down. At some point, you have to be focused and successful people do that very, very well. The reason they do that is they find a medium, a platform that gives them energy. Successful people run most of their lives on energy-centric schedules.

[00:17:34] So if you see some successful people wake up early in the morning, that’s because they have realized they do their best work early in the morning. So they have a routine that maximizes that. Some people are night owls; they work late at night. I am a split-shift guy. I can work very well early in the morning.

[00:17:49] I can work very well later at night. And I am, I do better with like general meetings during the day. So that allows me to work from, You know, kind of when I wake up at 445, I can work [00:18:00] early in the morning, I can do meetings all day, I can take care of my family, and I can work late at night. So I do my best work early and late, and I leave the middle of the day for the meetings and the other, you know, collaborative stuff that I need.

[00:18:13] And I figured out that my, that is my body’s biorhythms. Most people have not figured that out. And it’s interesting when people tell me, Oh, you know, Sharran, you don’t have work likes balance. Transcribed Who are you to tell me anything, and who am I to tell you anything? If I want to live my life that way, I live my life that way.

[00:18:26] It works for me. Heck, clearly, it’s working for me right now, and it’s not working for you. I could tell you that because you’re listening right now, and you’re going to be like, Hey, I probably should make an adjustment right now. I say that, you know, why I’m saying that, to give you confidence. I need to give you courage to draw a line in the sand and say, This is who I am.

[00:18:41] This is how I work. This is, if I did this thing would be really great. And the way to think about that is to think about that before you have the success. And let me tell you what I mean by that. A lot of people will tell me, Hey, Sharran, you know what, when I have millions of dollars in the bank and when I’m running a big company and when I have a big staff, I will do the things that you’re saying.

[00:18:56] In fact, it’s the opposite. If you don’t do these things right [00:19:00] now, you’re not going to have a ton of money. You’re not going to have done a great relationship. You’re not going to have leverage because you can’t literally flip your life to a different life just because you have more money or you have more success or you have more fame.

[00:19:10] The business, the practices that you have right now, the routines that you have right now all carry to that thing. So you don’t want to change your life when you get successful. You want to change your life now so that you do become successful. That is the key thing, and most people don’t do that. They’re too afraid to do that.

[00:19:24] They’re like, well, I’m still scrappy. I need to do everything, whatever I take. But in fact, if you could actually narrow the window, give yourself the grace, have the right kind of energy-centric approach to your life, If you had all the money in the world, if you had all the success in the world, how would you design your life?

[00:19:41] Well, take that and do a significant portion of that right now because that will give you insane amount of freedom, and that will bring out the best in you. Right? That’s what I’ve seen happen. Now, again, this is my perspective on what I’m seeing happen. Hopefully, this is helpful to you as I share the various things that I’ve learned.

[00:19:55] So that’s number three. So we talked about three things. Number one, A focus vision, which is [00:20:00] they know exactly what they want. Number two, successful people understand the power of having great people around them in their lives. So whenever they see somebody amazing, they try to find a way to do something with them.

[00:20:09] Number three is time mastery. And the greatest part about that is understanding how people communicate with you, where your time stack energy happens. How do you stay in good energetic rapport with yourself? And. Instead of waiting to be successful to do those things, do the things now so that you’re successful because you did those things.

[00:20:25] Here’s number four, which is relationship building. And what I mean by relationship building is I have found that successful people have an amazing ability to either integrate their lives into something that’s working well, or compartmentalize their lives from something that’s not working well. And let me explain what I mean.

[00:20:39] I know successful people that have really great family and personal lives. Maybe partners, spouses, children, parents. I know successful people that have that. I also know successful people that don’t have that. They either don’t have a partner, are divorced, that, you know, have to have dual custody of their children.

[00:20:58] Not all good, [00:21:00] it’s just they have stress, trauma, they have to like take care of their parents, they don’t have a lot of friends, they’re introverted, whatever. It’s totally fine. That’s what life is all about. Not one is not better than the other. However, the person who has the family, relationships, etc. They probably have it because they feel a sense of importance to that.

[00:21:18] And they draw a source of courage and strength from that. That’s a source of stability for them. That’s like my family is a lot, is a source of stability for me. I don’t have to overthink, you know, just because I, if I have to work over the weekend, I don’t really care what anyone’s like. If I work over the weekend, I have to work over the weekend.

[00:21:36] My family understands that I have to work over the weekend. I don’t have to apologize to anybody. I don’t have to ask for permission. If I have to work, I work. If I don’t have to work, I don’t work. I do whatever I want to do and my family understands that I’m going to make good choices and it’s an integration with them so I draw a source of strength from them.

[00:21:55] For other people that’s not there and they have to solve that. So how [00:22:00] I found what successful people do if they don’t have that is they have this amazing ability to compartmentalize. Successful people can compartmentalize things that are not going well in their lives. So they’re like, you know what, I have this personal relationship, it’s with a friend or a family or a parent or a sibling or whatever, it’s not going well, they have the ability to wrap that into a little box, put it on a shelf, leave it there, do the work they need to do and come back to it when they can actually do that.

[00:22:25] And I will tell you, it’s not a personality trait. They’ve learned to do that. They essentially have said, Hey, right now I’m focused on building this initiative. I cannot worry about this thing with my best friend for the next 48 hours. I’m going to call him in 48 hours. I’m going to put this on the shelf right now.

[00:22:40] Right now I’m focused on this. They have this massive ability to compartmentalize. And the only way you can get the ability to compartmentalize is if you practice. This is all about reps. I will tell you, if you can find a way to compartmentalize the things that are actually like dragging you down, that are actually distracting you, that are bringing down your energy.

[00:22:59] You can just [00:23:00] compartmentalize that and say, Hey, here’s the box. I’m going to put this problem in this box. I’m going to put this box on the shelf and I’m going to go back and look at that box in two days, in two weeks, in one month on Wednesday. But for now, I’m not going to worry about it because I’m focused on doing this thing.

[00:23:14] If you can do that, that is probably one of the greatest cheat codes that you can pull off in your life. Being able to compartmentalize the distractions is a superpower for successful people. I’ll say it again. Being able to compartmentalize distractions is a superpower for successful people. At the same time, drawing from the positive relationships, the positive strengths, the celebrations, the things that are going well is also a superpower.

[00:23:38] You have to be able to do both. Most successful people are just like you and me. They have successes, they have problems, they have things that are going well, they have things that are draining them and distracting them. Drawing strength from the things that are positive, compartmentalizing the things that are negative, are really, really powerful, because it goes back to making sure you have time and focus to do the [00:24:00] things you want to do, so that you’re not deeply distracted.

[00:24:02] That is number four, which is managing your relationships. And here’s number five, is this. Personal growth and reflection is so curious to successful people, because they’ve realized this one thing: that success; Success is about thinking about your thinking. I’ll say it again. Success is about thinking about your thinking.

[00:24:20] The reason you can give me a problem and I have a different thought process and maybe a potential solution than if you’re trying to solve it yourself is that I just think about it differently. The problem is not the problem. The problem is how you think about the problem, right? The problem is not the problem.

[00:24:35] The problem is how you think about the problem. Why is it a problem to you but not a problem to me? That’s why I love partnerships because when I’m talking with my partner in a business, there’s a good chance that if it’s a problem to me, it may not be a problem to him or her, because they probably think about the problem differently.

[00:24:51] The problem is not the problem, the problem is how you think about the problem. And when the power of thinking about your problem is to think [00:25:00] differently, thinking about your thinking is the greatest gift that you can give yourself. So it’s not about like, how do I madly go and hustle and execute? It’s not that thing.

[00:25:07] You just, sometimes, you’re like, huh, I read this email. I got triggered by it. Wow. Why did this trigger me? Did he insult me? Did he insult my intelligence? My coach says this phrase that she’s given me, which I think about a lot. And she says, whenever I’m get triggered by something, she asked me to ask myself this question.

[00:25:26] What am I telling myself about myself? How powerful is that? What am I telling myself? About myself. Am I telling myself that’s so crazy? Am I telling myself that he was wrong? What am I telling myself about myself? Because a lot of our thinking is the self-talk that we give ourselves about that thinking.

[00:25:44] What am I telling myself about myself? Because the problem is not the problem. The problem is how you think about the problem. Which means that personal growth, at the heart of everything, personal growth, is the thing that is going to drive your success, right? You are probably a better entrepreneur today, a better [00:26:00] mom today, a better dad today, a better brother today, a better sister today, a better son today, a better executive today, a better employee today, a better Uber driver today.

[00:26:07] You are better today than you were three years ago. Why? Yes, you have experience. Yes, you have some reps. You know how to, you have new capability, new skills. You think about things better. You’re just more comfortable thinking about the thing, right? That’s the cool part. Personal growth. Is that we just think about our thinking more, and based on the thinking about our thinking, we learn something about ourselves.

[00:26:29] We know when we get triggered. We know when we don’t, we know when what makes us happy. We know what doesn’t; we know what is how we define success for ourselves. And we know how we don’t, we know the people that we want to spend time with. And we, we need to know, we know, we don’t, we know what our values are and we know what are not because we spend time thinking about our thinking.

[00:26:45] Personal growth is the ultimate performance accelerator in everything. So I will tell you this. I actually have seen. A lot of quote fake successful people lie that they have coaches and mentors and I’m like, why would you lie about that bro? Like I have talked to [00:27:00] people in the last week that have said oh, yeah, I have a coach and I’m like, who is it?

[00:27:04] They’re like, well, you know and I’m like, why are you lying? It’s not that you have to have a coach But it will help you in an accelerated version so much better because you have the ability to have somebody else guide you and have some outside eyes so that you can think about your thinking better. Now, a lot of people think that, hey, you know what, a coach needs to tell me how to implement a marketing campaign or tell me what to do, etc.

[00:27:24] I lean on my coaches and advisors just to help me think about my thinking, because if I think better, if I think clearer, if I’m not amorphous or ambiguous in my thinking, it allows me to be, have a lot more clarity, and when I have a lot more clarity, it brings me back to what? It brings me back to success, because success is what?

[00:27:42] Success is knowing exactly what you want, which is clarity, having a plan to do it, so you know the next step. If that is the definition, clarity is the mother of mastery. Clarity is what’s going to get me there. You are already successful and you just don’t know it yet. Think about that for a second. You are already [00:28:00] successful and you just don’t know it yet.

[00:28:01] Because you never set the target for yourself. You never said, Hey, I want to get here. I want to make 100, 000 this year. I want to make a million dollars this year. If you said that to yourself, And you had a plan and you went and did the work and you’d be like, you know what, I got it. Then you prove to yourself, you stack evidence in your favor that you are who you say you are.

[00:28:18] That allows you to stack the next goal in your favor so that you can go get that. And if you don’t get that, you can just adjust the plan and adjust the work. You never adjust the goal. Because you have clarity and you have confidence you have courage that in the past You are who you said you were because you did what you said you were gonna do But most people they just want more more more more more is the two words that crush human success are more and should Hey, I want more money more fame more more more more Or should, oh yeah, I should probably work out more.

[00:28:48] I should probably find a coach. I should probably have a better body. I should probably have a better morning routine. The shoulds are the beginning of the end in our ability to improve. And that’s the cool part here because you have the ability now [00:29:00] to change the way you think about life forever.

[00:29:02] Because success is only three things, knowing exactly what you want, having a plan to get there and doing the work. And I’ve seen the successful people do this better than anyone else because they have a chance to actually do these five things really well. Number one, they have a focused vision, which means they know exactly what they want and it’s in writing with a wrapper of language.

[00:29:24] Number two, they invest in people and relationships and knowledge because when they find somebody that is an A player, they want to do something with them. Number three, they have time mastery. They know what are the things that are coming at them in this modern world and how to actually channel it so they can protect their time and protect their energy, so that’s really helpful to them.

[00:29:42] Number four, they understand the power of relationships, which is they draw strength from the positive stuff and they can compartmentalize stuff, compartmentalize the negative stuff for now. And number five, they know that success is about thinking about your thinking. Because it’s not about the problem is not the problem.

[00:29:56] The problem is how you think about the problem. And the more clarity that you have, [00:30:00] it brings us back to success, which is knowing exactly what you want, having a plan to get there and doing the work. These are my the out of the 13 plus things I wrote down. These are the five things that I thought Yeah, are the simple things that make successful people who they are.

[00:30:13] I hope this was helpful to you. If this was, can you just do me a favor? And so just give me some feedback, give me some guidance so I can make more like this for you. So take a screenshot. If you like this, tag me that way.
